Rabat, Sunday February 17

A military court in Morocco has tried the 24 Sahrawi political prisoners from Akdeim Izik, in preventive detention for more than two years, for nine days without interruption. The macro-trial, held in Rabat, concluded in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 24 Sahrawis have listened fearlessly to the condemnations and, fists raised, have issued proclamations for the independence and self-determination of Western Sahara.

Only 15 minutes were enough for the judge of the Rabat military court to sentence the Political Prisoners of Akdeim Izik with great difficulty:

8 prisoners life imprisonment;

4 prisoners 30 years in jail;

7 prisoners 25 years in jail;

2 prisoners 20 years in jail;

3 prisoners sentenced for the time served.
